  2. certain characteristics to occur exclusively, 
  3. or predominantly, in one sex only. Human 
  4. examples include red-green colour blindness 
  5. and haemophilia, both found predominantly in 
  6. males. In both cases, these characteristics 
  7. are recessive and are determined by genes on 
  8. the X chromosome.
